Description

Olivier Collin’s story began not so long ago, in the region of Champagne, with his inaugural 2004 vintage. The family used to sell grapes to a large producer, until the law school graduate managed to maneuver the use of the family vineyards for his own wine production.

From the very beginning, Olivier’s vision was to create wines from single parcels and a single variety. Having worked briefly alongside Anselme Selosse (who paved the way for subsequent generations of artisanal Champagne producers to flourish) he uses barrels to add richness and complexity, without obscuring the terroirs with which he works.

Les Maillons comes from a vineyard of the same name and is 100% Pinot Noir. Despite being based in the lesser-known village of Congy, Olivier’s fastidious work in both the vines and cellars has made him one of the most sought-after and exciting producers in Champagne today—and rightly so.
