Description

Producer Frédéric Savart’s initial dreams of being a professional footballer might not have panned out, but he’s certainly surpassed expectations as a vigneron. When he took over the domaine from his father (affectionately known throughout Champagne as Dan Dan), Savart continued to honour his motto—“the best wine from the best grapes”.

Based in Ecueil just south of Reims, Savart’s Bulle de Rosé comes from a selection of estate parcels within the village. It is a blend of 70% Pinot Noir, 22% Chardonnay and 8% Pinot Noir, vinified as a red wine, then added to this assemblage Rosé expression. Savart’s style incorporates a masterful use of oak, creating beautifully balanced examples without becoming too oxidative or overwhelmingly oaky. Dosage is kept low, yet balanced in the overall expression.

Without question, Savart is one of today’s most exciting Champagne producers—and he continues to demonstrate a joie de vivre as he continues exploring new terroirs and refining his work in both the cellars and vineyards.
