Description
Bruno Rochard took over the family domaine in 1998, based in Rablay-sur-Layon; a hotbed for natural wine in Anjou of the Loire Valley. He began converting the estate to organic farming in 2006 and has been certified since 2009. A true man of the vines, he in fact reduced the domaine’s holdings to 6 hectares – the largest size he can handle on his own without any sacrifices towards quality having to be made.
Des Boires et Des Bulles (meaning ‘drinks and bubbles’) is a 100% Chenin Blanc made as a Pétillant-Naturel. A touch of residual sugar remains after the fermentation finished in bottle, creating a fine balance between the acidity, effervescence and sweetness of the wine. The wine presents a true expression with no added sulphur through the winemaking process.
Bruno’s fastidious approach to the vines translates to an incredible expression of Pét Nat and pure expression of Chenin Blanc, with a delicious approachability.
