Description
Jane Eyre is predominantly known for her wines of the Côte d’Or, with some ventures also in Beaujolais. An exception? Her Côtes du Jura Chardonnay; a single vintage production from some specially sourced grapes. The grapes are from a biodynamically farmed vineyard in the historic heart of Arbois, with an average vine age of 60 years.
The wine saw a very hands-off approach in the cellar. Fermentation was done by indigenous yeast, in a combination of stainless steel and a 500-litre, one-year-old barrel. It remained in stainless steel and barrel for 18-months, the only addition being a light sulphuring prior to being bottled unfined and unfiltered.
It shines with the classic notes of nuttiness, ginger and the spice of wines from the Jura, with Jane’s signature deft touch. Only 2,000 bottles were produced and we are incredibly fortunate to have secured a small parcel of it for Singapore.
